On the 22nd of November we ran our second BeatCamp collaborative workshop.

24 producers in teams of two descended on The Proud Archivist in London to write an entire track in just one day.

Producers from all over the world attended, and many returned from our previous event.

As well as the ninja skills that are honed from writing a track in a day, Beatcamp also helps producers develop their network within the industry and become part of a global connected community.

We’ve caught up with some of our BeatCamp Alumni to see how they’ve been working and what breakthroughs they’ve had this year…

Billy Palmer (Dozer Carter)  & Louis Butler (Jungle VIP)

Billy and Louis both produce Hip-Hop and were at our first event in May. They have a group called OthaSoul who are currently making massive waves. Their E.P ‘Real Talk’ is flying off the shelves and they recently performed at the UK’s legendary Bestival :

Ger Byrne (Blend Bold) & JP Lantieri

Ger Byrne & JP Lantieri

Ger and JP were partnered together at our most recent event and knocked out a deep house banger, ‘Find a Way’. They’ve put the final touches to track and have published it through Spinnup for release on 5th January 2015.

This is the first track to be created at BeatCamp and go on sale. We actually liked it so much, we’ve used it as the first track in our BeatCamp teaser video.

JP also recently played his first gig at a proper London Club, The Egg where he was on the same bill as Todd Terry.

Phil Mac

spare room records

Electro Swing producer, Phil Mac who runs his own label ‘Spare Room Records’ also attended November’s BeatCamp.

He’ll be playing out his unique brand of 1920’s swing meets 2020’s house music at Electro Swing Club London on the 17th January 2015.

His track, ‘Be there Too’ has been featured on the compilation Electro Speakeasy Club Vol 1 which is currently charting at #2 on Juno.

Tobias Paramore  (J.Tomes)

Tobias was at Beatcamp #1 armed with his trusty blue MPC1000.

He has since been involved starting a new label down in Brighton called BRVFCE. which focuses on supporting artists who strive to perform their material live.

Working with Inwards and Pale Graphs on this project, they’ll be releasing new material and having launch party early next year so watch this space. In the meanwhile Tobias has also been finessing a new live set which you can check out below…

Anil Kamath (AKA) & Mike Harrison (Kalimba)

Anil and Mike attended both our BeatCamp events and earlier this year. Mike who is also a mix and mastering engineer helped Anil mix his amazing deep house workout of the classic track Cure & The Cause. We’re expecting big things of both these guys in 2015.
